Tronox Sponsors Basic High School Robotics Team with $5,000 Donation

Tronox, a Henderson manufacturing plant donated $5,000 to benefit the Basic High School Robotics Team. This is the fourth year Tronox will be the club’s primary sponsor.

The Basic High School Robotics Team, a longstanding club at Basic High School, teaches students the engineering components of robotics, and how to build robots through advanced production methods.

“Since Tronox has come on as a sponsor, our team has had the ability to work on more advanced robotics machines and participate in national competitions,” said Mark Reed, head of the Basic High School Robotics Team. “The robots the students are building, the competitions they’re participating in and the knowledge they’re gaining from hands-on experience will be invaluable assets in their futures. All of this would not be possible without Tronox’s generous donation and partnership each year, for which we are truly grateful.”

“We are proud to give back to such a dedicated and hardworking set of students,” said Rick Stater, Tronox plant manager. “It’s amazing to see what these young students are accomplishing and I’m happy Tronox can help provide the tools they need to do great things.
