Tronox Henderson plant hosts annual “Take Your Child to Work Day”

(HENDERSON, NV)- On April 24, 2014 the Tronox Henderson plant hosted their annual “Take Your Child to Work Day” plant tour and event for their employees’ children. Nearly 30 children of all ages participated. They not only took an extensive tour of the plant, but also watched presentations on safety, thermal imaging, laboratory procedures, security initiatives, and careers in the field of engineering.

Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation Announce Fundraising Initiative at Event Benefitting Burn-Injured Children

(Las Vegas, Nev.) – On April 15, 2014, the Fire Fighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation (FFSNBF), in partnership with the Spiegel Burn Foundation, held a special fundraising event announcing their initiative to raise donations for the burn-injured children they assist. Henderson Historical Society to Host Third “Henderson Speaks” Event Featuring Nevada Pioneers and Four Interactive Activities

BLM_Hisoric(Henderson NV) – The Henderson Historical Society (HHS) will host its third “Henderson Speaks” event on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the James I. Gibson Library in Henderson.

The lecture panel recalling events in the town’s history will feature the following presenters: Duane Laubach-real estate industry; John “Jack” Jeffrey-past Henderson City Council member and Nevada assemblyman; Colleen McGinty-former office manager for the Clark County School District; and Robert Groesbeck-former mayor of the City of Henderson.  Continue Reading
